WHO WE ARE
Live to Serve, founded by Leonard “Jay” Kennedy, is a dedicated non-profit organization with a mission to empower and uplift low-income individuals, including single mothers, youth, veterans, and seniors. Our organization was inspired by a commitment to address the pressing needs of these communities, striving not only to provide assistance but also to foster long-term solutions.

OUR STORY
Each year, Live to Serve presents a cash scholarship to three students graduating from the Atlantic City High School.
Our Programs
2 Eat Play Live
A Live to Serve program for youth grades K-6. This program will address food insecurity, promote a fun, active and creative lifestyle, wellness and mental health. An opportunity for children to express their creativity and have their mental health and wellness needs addressed. An opportunity for parents to meet with organizations, to help them understand how to support and address their children’s well-being, for long term development and advancement.

A Night for Mom 2025
A night out and a celebration of single mothers. A special evening of good food, fun, music, gifts, games, painting, connections and also activities for the kids.

KENSINGTON ENGAGEMENT PROJECT
Join us as we inspire to Engage, Enrich and Empower individuals in Kensington. An opportunity to connect with individuals in their current state, to support them, provide hope and walk through life with them. We will have an opportunity to provide toiletries, clothing, food, and other basic needs. Everyone needs someone, and we want to do our part.
Date: Every Third Saturday, January-June

WALK IN MY SHOES
Please join us, as we complete our yearly outreach in Kensington with this special project. We are asking for donations of warm weather clothing, and new or gently used sneakers or comfortable footwear.

PHILLY YOUTH DAY
A community outdoor event. A day of fun activities, games, face painting, free food, a DJ and family resources. Backpacks with school supplies will be provided.

2 EAT PLAY LIVE
A summer youth program. This program will address food insecurity, arts, mental health and social wellness, with youth grades K-6.
Date: August 3rd – August 28th
Locations: Family Success Center One and Two. Atlantic City, NJ
LIVE TO SERVE ARTS
A youth arts program that promotes and encourages creativity, self-expression and hands-on learning. Ages 7-16
Date: Saturdays August 1st – August 22nd

Meet Our Founder
Jay
Founder, Live to Serve
Live to Serve is a non profit, organized to be an extension of a life long desire to help others. Since I was a child, I would tag along with my parents as they sought to meet the needs of others. It didn’t matter how long it took to get there, how often an individual would need help, how much it cost, or where it was located-my parents were willing to give, serve and sacrifice.
It’s amazing how one small act of kindness can impact an individual’s life. The gesture not only has an affect on the individual, but resonates with the giver or person performing the task. Mother Teresa said, “No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted”.
Each day, I ask God to help me to be His hands and feet, as I make up the gap in the lives of others. Live to Serve, allows me an opportunity to do just that. We want to impact lives, by caring for their needs and serving faithfully, one person at a time.
